HONG KONG AND NEW DELHI, Nov. 11, 2006 – PepsiCo Asia announced today that two of its senior executives will assume new responsibilities.
Rajeev Bakshi, who has successfully led PepsiCo’s beverage business in India for five years as general manager, will assume a new, broader role spanning PepsiCo’s beverages and foods businesses across Asia. He will be responsible for several key functions for PepsiCo Asia, including, business development, innovation and insights and sales capability. To ensure a smooth and orderly leadership transition, Bakshi will remain in his current role until December 31, at which time he will relocate to the PepsiCo Asia headquarters in Hong Kong.
Sanjeev Chadha, highly-accomplished commercial VP for PepsiCo Asia and a 16-year PepsiCo veteran, will succeed Bakshi as general manager of Pepsi-Cola India. Chadha, whose broad breadth of experience includes seven years at Pepsi-Cola India, will be responsible for all aspects of PepsiCo’s beverage business in India.

Rajeev Bakshi joined PepsiCo Beverages International (PBI) in 2001 as Chairman of PepsiCo India Holdings Pvt. Ltd. in India, in which position he held responsibility for the company’s business in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
During his time as Chairman of PepsiCo India Holdings Pvt. Ltd., Rajeev shifted the India portfolio from non-carbonated beverages to address the emerging Health and Wellness opportunity and has built a strong and cohesive leadership team.
Rajeev joined PepsiCo from Cadbury Schweppes Ltd., where he spent eight highly successful years in India and other international locations.
In his years with Cadbury, Rajeev has been credited with leading Cadbury to be one of the most successful companies in India, delivering superior shareholder value returns. He lead the expansion of Cadbury’s ‘in every pocket’ strategy in India and did a stellar job of building Cadbury’s confectionery business through innovation and brand repositioning, generating strong volume growth and increasing market share.
Prior to joining Cadbury India in 1992, Rajeev spent 14 years with Lakme Lever in India in a range of sales, marketing and general management assignments in the fast-moving personal product category.
Rajeev has a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) Honours Degree from St. Stephens College in New Delhi and an MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore).

Sanjeev Chadha joined PepsiCo Beverages International in 1990 as one of the founding members of the team that launched Brand Pepsi in India. Sanjeev has held Marketing and General Management roles in India, Philippines and Vietnam, and has served as the Head of Sales for PepsiCo's Asia Pacific beverage business.
Sanjeev has played a pivotal role in Asia Region's innovation journey, and has also step-changed the region's capability to launch locally relevant, differentiated non-carbonated beverages and has led strong snacks innovations including pioneering work on Quaker.
Before joining PepsiCo, Sanjeev spent 6 years with JWT Advertising and 2 years at Brooke Bond, a Unilever company.
Sanjeev is a graduate of Delhi University and holds an MBA in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
