PepsiCo ushers a wave of change with the all new, punchier & more powerful Pepsi for Andhra Pradesh

Signs on Tollywood sensation Ram Charan Tej as its brand ambassador

Hyderabad, 19th March 2009- Pepsi the brand that stands for youthfulness, 'Can Do' attitude and 'Dare for More' today unveiled the all new, more powerful and fizzier Pepsi especially formulated for its consumers in Andhra Pradesh. The power packed launch also saw the newly appointed Pepsi brand ambassador Tollywood superstar-Ram Charan Tej vouching for 'Jorunna Kotha Pepsi, Jorunna Youngistaan'.

According to Punita Lal, Executive Marketing-Pepsi Co India, "Brand Pepsi has always had a finger on the pulse of the youth and their evolving needs and preferences. The new fizzier Pepsi celebrates the Andhra youth who are energetic and spirited, respect traditions yet are modern in their thinking - challenging status quo to bring about a positive change. Basis these consumer insights; we have introduced the fizzier and more powerful Pepsi which connects well with local taste and preferences of Andhra youth. The tagline- 'Jorunna Kotha Pepsi, Jorunna Youngistaan' aptly describes Pepsi in its new avataar.

"Ram Charan resonates Youngistaan's core value with his undying thirst for life and a deep sense of self-belief. With the awesome combination of the powerful new taste of Pepsi & the charisma of the talented Ram Charan Tej, we are confident that we will be able to strengthen the brand's stature and local connect in Andhra like never before," she further added.

Speaking on the occasion, Pepsi's newly appointed brand ambassador-Ram Charan Tej said, "I am excited to be associated with such an iconic brand like Pepsi which has always been the youth's soulmate. Pepsi is not just the Indian youth's favourite drink; it is also the voice of youth. The new more powerful Pepsi perfectly encapsulates the Andhra youth who are bubbling with energy and have an irrepressible thirst for life. I love the new, powerful, fizzier taste of Pepsi and I am sure others are going to love it too."

The mega initiative will be supported by an integrated multi media campaign encompassing television, outdoor, print, modern trade and trial generations in metros and towns across Andhra Pradesh. The campaign will kick start with brand new television commercial featuring Youngistaanis-Ram Charan and Deepika Padukone for the first time.The TVC is scheduled to go on air on 23rd March 2009.

This new more powerful Pepsi will continue to be available at the same price in returnable glass bottles and PET.

The new film is another punchy entertaining film that celebrates the new, fizzier Pepsi. We see two of Pepsi's youngest ambassadors, Charan and Deepika. Charan is shaking Andhra with his tremendous spirit and energy and Deepika is doing the same for Mumbai. Charan invites Deepika to come and taste the change; the change in the youth; the change in their favourite Pepsi. The all new Pepsi is bubbling with the beat of this spirited youth and their bold new style. Together, they celebrate the spirit of Andhra's Youngistaan and the taste of the more powerful, punchier Pepsi.
