New Delhi, February 27, 2012: Pratik Pota of PepsiCo has been appointed as CEO - NourishCo Beverages Ltd, the joint venture between Tata Global Beverages Limited and PepsiCo India Holdings with immediate effect. Pratik takes over from Punita Lal who has proceeded on a sabbatical for personal reasons. She would in due course come back to a role in PepsiCo.
NourishCo Beverages is at the threshold of redefining the hydration category on the health & wellness platform and has just launched India’s first nutrient water, TATA Water Plus, in two variants. In addition to this TATA Gluco Plus (launched in 2011) continues to expand its market footprint. Pratik would lead NourishCo into an exciting journey ahead as the company pursues its agenda for foraying into new markets, targeting new consumers and bringing new innovative products to life. Along this journey, both parent organizations, PepsiCo and the TATAs, will continue to support NourishCo by leveraging their respective strengths.

Pratik joined PepsiCo India Beverages in September 2005 as the Category Marketing Director - Flavors. During this stint, he was instrumental in changing the scale and stature of PepsiCo’s flavour brands. Additionally, Pratik conceptualized, championed & developed one of PepsiCo’s key local innovations: Nimbooz. He was also instrumental in the rapid scale up of Mountain Dew with the iconic ‘Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai’ campaign. In 2009, Pratik moved on to head PepsiCo’s South Market Unit as MUGM (Market Unit General Manager) and increased market shares of PepsiCo’s beverage portfolio across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka by focusing on GTM (Go To Market) transformation. He strengthened the back-end by revamping the Supply Chain. Pratik demonstrated courageous leadership and sponsored impactful people interventions.
Pratik started his career in 1992 as a sales manager in Unilever and spent around 10-years in various roles of increasing responsibility across sales and marketing. Prior to joining PepsiCo, he worked in Airtel for 4-years where he played a key role in launching Airtel Mobile operations in Western India. Pratik completed his MBA from IIM Kolkata and has done his engineering from BITS Pilani.

A joint venture between Tata Global Beverages Limited and PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited, NourishCo aims to provide meaningful hydration solutions in the non-carbonated, ready-to-drink beverages segment in India and around the world.

The JV was formed in 2010 through a joint venture agreement between Tata and PepsiCo India. NourishCo has a vision for growth and has tremendous potential with ‘good for you’ products.
