Lucknow, Feb 8 2010: History was written here today when a 22-year-old Lucknow boy took Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone - no less - on a date in the city.
And it was all made possible thanks to his favourite drink Pepsi. Ramakant Yadav, a student of Journalism and Mass Communication at Lucknow University left legions of Deepika fans and youngsters in the city envious after he got this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take Deepika out on a date.
After spending a memorable day with Deepika, an unbelieving Ramakant said "I can only say WOW...this experience is surely going to remain with me forever. I am just floored by the genuineness of Deepika, she is a very down-to-earth person and exudes warmth. She is the perfect personification of Pepsi's Youngistaan. I can never thank Pepsi enough for turning my ultimate dream into a reality. I never thought my loyalty to my favourite drink can result in such an overwhelming reward."

Specially launched for consumers in Uttar Pradesh, all the consumers needed to do was to purchase a 600ml bottle to see the challenge from Deepika. Against this, they were to write their cool & whacky dating ideas, and send them through a SMS or by calling 9004433333. Deepika finally choose the coolest & whackiest entry to let the winner go on a date with her.

Captured with the tagline, 'My Pepsi, My Way';!, brand Pepsi provokes the youth of today to take on any situation using their mental smarts to effortlessly find their way through any given situation. Well in this case, find their way into a situation with Deepika.
Stretching beyond confines of traditional media, the new Pepsi campaign touched new engagement modules both online and on-ground. Pepsi also rolled out a unique on-ground activation specially targeting consumers in youth catchments areas like colleges, malls and youth hang-outs.
